Another fantastic turn out of our members and affiliate members at today's luncheon!! Well done! 

Today's speaker, Melissa Lujan Law, discussed immigration law which has been a hot topic lately. The takeaways are the importance of staying informed about policy changes, educated about the history and background of asylum and minors at the border, and aware of the obstacles individuals have to overcome to obtain citizenship.

Start preparing and coordinating donations for our annual fundraiser to assist Positive Tomorrows in meeting the needs of students and families. We are so proud of all the wonderful things that Positive Tomorrows offers to our community. Let's strive to outshine our last donation!! Donations will be accepted and presented to Positive Tomorrow at our meeting on August 10.

Recap of Awards Luncheon

What an outstanding meeting today! We are thrilled with a record breaking attendance of nearly 60 guests at today’s award luncheon.  Click here to view more photos of the Awards Luncheon.

We had the privilege of Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter speaking to us about the battle against the opioid epidemic along with other matters handled by the AG’s office.

Congratulations to Timila Rother of Crowe & Dunlevy who was awarded our 2018 Attorney of the Year in appreciation of her outstanding support of the paralegal community. Our 2018 Paralegal of the Year was awarded to Ginger Walters Schones. She has been invaluable to COALA as a member as well as a board member.

Well deserving recipients of this year’s scholarships are Darci Deering (2018 Dianna Peters Scholarship Award), Shameosha Anderson (2018 Scholarship Award) and Kylie Shelley (2018 Scholarship Award). Shamie and Kylie are paralegal students at The University of Oklahoma College of Law.

And as always, we appreciate the Sheraton Oklahoma City Downtown Hotel for providing us with a beautiful space and meal.
