Autism Piecewalk

Hello Members!

Autism awareness and the Autism Piecewalk is something very near and dear to our own Kerry Blackburn. Her 8 year old son, JJ, has high functioning autism and sensory processing disorder. JJ's team name is Captain JJ and the Autism Avengers. JJ loves superheros!

This year’s walk/run is on May 6th and it will be JJ's third year to run/walk for autism awareness.

Please consider donating to JJ's team and supporting a good cause.

Judge Clancy Smith, with the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals, spoke on the 14th Amendment and the Reconstruction Amendments and discussed some key cases from Oklahoma. OKC attorney Rex Travis received The Journal Record Award today.

COALA Spring Seminar

We had a fantastic turnout at COALA's Spring Seminar last Friday despite all the rain. Thanks so much to our speakers, Emilie Wedman, Chris Batson Deason and Travis Pickens, who gave us a better understanding of employment visas, transgender custody litigation and how to manage stress and maintain a work/life balance. — at Crowe & Dunlevy.

April 2017 Meeting

Thank you to all who attended today's COALA meeting to hear Robert M. Johnson's presentation about how Oklahomans banded together after the bombing of the Murrah Building in 1995. This spirit of generosity - of giving until there's no more to give - is known as The Oklahoman Standard. It had been part of OKC's DNA ever since it was founded. #OKStandard

"We come here to remember those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever. May all who leave here know the impact of violence. May this memorial offer comfort, strength, peace, hope and serenity."
