August CLE Luncheon

August 14, 2026 • 11:30 am

Our August speaker will be Kim Moyer, State Director, Marsy’s Law for Oklahoma

Strategic, effective communication is a science and an art. Kim Moyer has built a career around understanding how best to communicate across multiple platforms to deliver important information. Most importantly thought, how best to communicate face-to-face with people during some of the most challenging times they face personally or professionally.

As the state director for Marsy’s Law for Oklahoma, she was responsible for leading the Oklahoma movement to see that crime victims receive constitutional rights and protections equal to those afforded people accused of committing crimes.

Before leading the Marsy’s Law campaign, she served as the senior director of communication and public relations at YWCA Oklahoma City providing media relations, crisis communication services and policy development at the State Capitol to help victims of domestic and sexual violence.

Her early work in journalism started her on the path to her current career in strategic communications and policy development. In addition to her work with crime victims’ rights and advocacy, she is the Communication Manager at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation helping connect individuals, families and organizations with strategic charitable giving options in the nonprofit community.

She’s also held positions as the Communication and Government Affairs Director for the State Department of Tourism, and as the deputy press secretary for Governor David Walters. These opportunities to serve were possible because of her work as a newspaper editor at The Oklahoman, and as an editor and investigative journalist at the Oklahoma City CBS and NBC television news stations. She has dedicated her life to making our community and our state a great place to live, work and raise a family.

Kim is married to Steve Moyer, an Edmond optometrist. Kim and Steve live in Edmond and have four children – Bryan, 37; Alex, 34; Chase, 32 and Caitlyn, 3-. She enjoys attending Oklahoma State University football and basketball games, and Oklahoma City Thunder games. She volunteers at YWCA OKC, New View Oklahoma and other nonprofit programs across the state.
